The owner and event coordinator were friendly, helpful, and accommodating when we first met with them. After we booked, they weren't quite as cordial, sometimes even sometimes sounding like we were bothering them with our questions (which weren't that frequent, so it wasn't that we were pestering them). The venue is spacious enough and beautiful, especially for the price (one of the best wedding packages in the area). There is a gazebo out back where we held our ceremony and a banquet room with a dance floor (approximately 30x30 feet) where the reception was held. Food was great, as was the wait staff and bartender. Pros: * friendly wait/bar staff * good price * the baker they use is phenomenal (DiMarco's in Brodheadsville) * facility is clean and well maintained * nice lawn/wooded area/stream out back for pictures Cons: * salad was on the tables (with dressing!) at 4:15 (dinner was not served until 6) * Food served to the bridal party during cocktail hour was pathetic. Small portions, not the full menu served to the wedding guests, not even a pitcher of water. We were promised our own wait staff in a private room, but we had to track someone down multiple times during the cocktail hour for drink orders and even then had to wait for quite some time for those drinks to show up. * Edit: This post previously stated that Famularo does not have central air. I have since been contacted by the venue and informed that they do indeed possess a functional central air system. The reason I assumed that there was no central air conditioning was because the building was uncomfortably hot on the day of our wedding; multiple guests complained to us as well as to management about the conditions in the event room. There are also two to four wall units throughout the banquet room, but with 125 people in the middle of July, the room was still very hot (you can see people glistening with sweat in our pictures). * The DJ that they include in their package (Mirage in Tannersville) is very unpleasant. We met with him and were so turned off that we hired someone else. (Neil from SpinnersPlus, who was great!) All in all, for the difference in price from some of the other resorts/wedding venues in the area, it was worth it to use Famularo. We just wished they had been a bit more forthcoming about what exactly we were getting. They talk themselves up quite a bit, and they really do a great job, but they don't live up to the hype that they give themselves. Honestly, I don't see why the owner (who was present all night at our wedding) couldn't have run down the road to Wal*Mart and picked up a couple of floor fans to make his guests/customers more comfortable. He kept telling us there was nothing he could do.
